I use my phone 4s iOS 6.1.3 as an iPod now. I have not had a problem syncing music to it with iTunes until now. I don't remember how long ago I last synced it, but I just tried after updating to iTunes 12.5.1. The 4s is connected to my mac by usb, however it doesn't show up under iTunes, any suggestions?

Based on your post, I am understanding that you recently updated iTunes, and it now will not recognize your iPhone 4s when it is connected to your Mac.
